In evaluating the usefulness of these materials for your students, consider that students need to participate in a range of activities that promote their career development. They need educational programs that:
- develop resilient individuals who are life long learners
- are flexible and allow them to explore their options while still in education
- provide opportunities to participate in community based programs and activities and workplace learning programs to develop an understanding of the world beyond school
- develop understandings of themselves (their interests, their values and their abilities) and develop their understanding of the working world
- develop lifelong learning and employability skills
- begin to develop career management skills
- develop individual pathway plans.
