  • develop resilient individuals who are life long learners
  • are flexible and allow them to explore their options while still in education
  • provide opportunities to participate in community based programs and activities and workplace learning programs to develop an understanding of the world beyond school
  • develop understandings of themselves (their interests, their values and their abilities) and develop their understanding of the working world
  • develop lifelong learning and employability skills
  • begin to develop career management skills
  • develop individual pathway plans.
