What is it?

Robotics is the science and technology of robots and their design, manufacture, and application. Robotics is related to electronics, mechanics and software. Robotic applications include humanoid (robots with human characteristics able to operate in human-oriented environments), service (completing tasks aimed to make daily life easier), medical (surgery, patient monitoring and rehabilitation), manufacturing (performing potentially dangerous and/or repetitive labour and making manufacturing more reliable, precise and efficient) and field (robots able to operate in unknown and potentially dangerous outdoor environments).
