Polycom video conferencing systems allow teachers and schools to connect, share and collaborate over distance with high definition video and audio connections.
Using Polycom you can:
- link with other schools
- share content, documents and discuss topics
- communicate with fellow teachers across the Department for professional learning and development.
Most Department Polycom systems consist of a Polycom high definition VC unit including camera, remote control unit and microphone, an LCD multi-purpose display screen, hardware and cabling for installation, and a purpose-built mobile trolley to house the equipment and mount the display. If your school has a Polycom video conferencing unit with an internet connection it’s easy to participate in a Polycom video conference.
Types of video conferences available in Polycom
Point-to-point video call between two schools with or without content sharing
Multipoint video call between three or more schools with or without content sharing
Point-to-point video call between two schools to an external unit via the internet with or without content sharing
Multipoint video call between three or more schools with remote video conference unit with or without content sharing
For video tutorials that explain how you can use a Polycom unit for video conferencing, see: Polycom Training Centre
