The Principles of Learning and Teaching P-12 (PoLT) Online Professional Learning Resource has been designed to support deeper understanding of the Principles. The Resource focuses primarily on extending teacher knowledge and supporting the development of skills to be implemented in classrooms.
The Resource covers all the Principles and their components, except for Principle 5, which is addressed in the Assessment Professional Learning Modules.
The Resource is structured around 'Guiding Questions' based on the key themes of each of the components. The other sections of the Resource support teachers to explore theory and develop strategies which will assist them in considering and addressing the guiding questions and themes within their own classrooms.
The PoLT Online Professional Learning Resource is flexible in that it can be used by individual teachers or in facilitated groups. It can be used in conjunction with the PoLT Professional Development Modules (from the PoLT Training Program) to extend professional learning, or can be used as a stand alone resource.
This resource, along with the Assessment Professional Learning Modules, may be used to plan professional learning that will support schools to continuously improve.
Action Research Model (Word - 29Kb) outlines the process through which individuals or groups can develop further skills and strategies related to their field of inquiry. Each section, or stage, of the Resource is linked to the appropriate step of the Action Research process.
We are interested in any feedback about the resource, including the content, navigational issues, ideas for further inclusion and particularly about how the resource was used in your context. Please provide comments via the following link:
