Census of Computers in Schools
From Term 1 2017, Victorian government and Catholic schools will use the new Victorian Curriculum F-10. Curriculum related information is currently being reviewed and may be subject to change.
For more information on the curriculum, see:
The Victorian Curriculum F–10 - VCAA
The census measures the computer-to-student ratio in schools and assists with equipment provisioning. It is held annually from the last school day of February.
The current computer-to-student ratio in Victorian government schools is:
- 1:1.36 for primary schools
- 1:0.91 for secondary schools.
This ratio is based on information provided by schools in the February 2017 census. The 2017 result includes both school and state funded computers, and 'bring your own' computers that are used by students. It does not include administration computers.
For information about the census, ask your school's specialist technician or log a call through the
Service gateway by clicking on the 'Log a request' link and then the 'Census of Computers' link.
