Offering a range of auditing services to help schools to become more energy efficient and sustainable.
The Department’s Energy Auditor and Sustainability Services Panel consists of screened professional organisations who can advise schools on becoming more energy efficient and sustainable.
The Panel provides schools with access to high quality services in:
- energy audits (level 1, 2 and 3)
- water audits
- heating reviews
- irrigation demand reviews
- waste reviews
- transport reviews.
Each of the consultants on the Panel have been screened for qualifications, experience and value-for-money, and are under contract to the Department to provide high quality service at a fixed price.
The most commonly used services are energy audits, which make recommendations for no-cost changes to the way schools are run, as well as offering a range of minor upgrade opportunities which are listed by capital cost and the payback period. Energy audits also help schools to better understand where and when energy is used and when it is wasted.
Doing an energy audit and improving the energy efficiency of the school also helps to reduce the impact of increasing energy costs.
The Panel and its pricing schedule can be accessed through the Schools Maintenance System and choosing Asset Operations/Panel Service Providers from the menu, see: School Maintenance System (secure site, requires login).
