The health and community services sector covers a wide range of organisations and health and welfare services.

These include child care, disability support, family support, mental health, aged care and drug and alcohol counselling and support. Organisations range from small, informal community groups through to large organisations, often complementing government services in health and community services. Workers in this industry play a vital role in assisting others. In this video, we look at a childcare centre and the occupational health and safety issues that may arise. Students are encouraged to watch this video prior to going on work experience or structured workplace learning in the health and community services industry.
