Begin or continue an apprenticeship

From Term 1 2017, Victorian government and Catholic schools will use the new Victorian Curriculum F-10. Curriculum related information is currently being reviewed and may be subject to change.

For more information on the curriculum, see:
The Victorian Curriculum F–10 - VCAA

Apprentices and trainees generally combine on-the-job paid work with training at a vocational training provider. For some programs, most of the training and assessment takes place at work.

Apprentices and trainees receive wages and other employee benefits, and undertake qualifications at Certificate II, III or IV level that are recognised across Australia and by employers in the industry.

More than 800 apprenticeship and trainee pathways are available as full-time or part-time programs.

Students can start an apprenticeship or traineeship while at school, or once they have left school.
