Improvement Model

The Improvement Model provides a common language for school improvement across the Victorian government school system. It is structured around four state-wide priorities that are proven to have a strong bearing on the effectiveness of a school:

Each priority has four dimensions. Six of these dimensions have been identified as high-impact Improvement Initiatives on which to focus effort:
  • Curriculum planning and assessment
  • Building practice excellence
  • Empowering students and building school pride
  • Setting expectations and promoting inclusion
  • Building leadership teams
  • Building communities
