Victorian government schools use a significant amount of energy and water, accounting for a large percentage of the Victorian Government’s energy usage at an annual cost of around $36 million.

There are many simple ways that your school can reduce its environmental impact, improve energy, water and waste efficiency, and save money.

There are Victorian and Commonwealth Government programs and services available to your school that include tips to help your students and teachers reduce the amount of energy used by your school and save money on your school’s energy bills.

The Department is committed to reducing energy consumption in schools and raising awareness amongst students, teachers and the community about sustainable design and use of buildings.
