Authorised Suppliers

From Term 1 2017, Victorian government and Catholic schools will use the new Victorian Curriculum F-10. Curriculum related information is currently being reviewed and may be subject to change.

For more information on the curriculum, see:

The Department has contracts with authorised suppliers for the supply of a range of information and communication technology (ICT) products and services that are available for schools.  Please note that the range of products and applicable terms and conditions may vary between supplier contracts.

How the pricing schedules operate

Products or services can be ordered directly from the authorised suppliers without the need to separately request quotations or tenders. This is because the Department has already undertaken a procurement event and has obtained all the necessary approvals.

Details and prices are updated regularly to make sure the products and services remain relevant and available at competitive prices.

Benefits of using the preferred suppliers

Use of the Department's authorised suppliers is strongly recommended in view of a number of benefits, including:

  • competitive pricing, including in most cases a three-year onsite warranty for hardware products
  • ability to purchase without having to call tenders or obtain additional quotes
  • provision of a supplier help desk for users
  • products evaluated
  • financial viability of suppliers assessed
  • protection provided by the Department's contracts on warranty, pricing and problem resolution

In general, the Rules of Use for the Departmental ICT contracts are that purchasers can obtain a single quote from a supplier’s contracted catalogue or product list, up to any monetary value, with approval by the relevant purchaser’s financial delegate or buying authority.

Where ICT authorised suppliers' contracts are not used, it is recommended that schools refer to the 'Finance Manual for Victorian Government Schools'.
