Quality school infrastructure is important to support all Victorian students in their learning. A contemporary, high quality and student centred environment can drive improvements in teaching and learning.

The Department of Education and Training is committed to supporting schools in the delivery of capital works and planned maintenance with a ten-year goal to have all facilities at a minimum condition standard and fit for contemporary teaching and learning practices.

The Department has developed a suite of building and infrastructure policy documents to assist schools in the understanding and management of their infrastructure assets including buildings, property and sites. For more information, see: School infrastructure online portal

The Department supports schools via a range of free training programs and tools to encourage sound asset management and building capability:

The key contact for building and infrastructure policy in the Department can be contacted on (03) 9637 3157.
