Stages of Learning

From Term 1 2017, Victorian government and Catholic schools will use the new Victorian Curriculum F-10. Curriculum related information is currently being reviewed and may be subject to change.

For more information on the curriculum, see:
The Victorian Curriculum F–10 - VCAA

Your child will have changing learning needs at different stages during their education, as they move through school. As your child passes through these stages they are continually developing the academic, social and physical skills they need.

At each stage your child develops skills and learns subjects targeted to the level of understanding and comprehension expected at this age.

The What's Happening Series will help you to better understand learning in secondary school.

In Years 11 and 12 students start to work towards what they are interested in doing once they leave school – through either the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) or the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE).
