  • Students whose parents are members of the police force, police pensioners or police widows

  • Awarded to 38 students

Who can apply?
  • Students completing Year 4, 5 or 6 in 2009 in a Victorian government primary school

Selection criteria
  • Student's current end-of-year results
  • Student's involvement in school and community activities
  • Family’s or student's financial circumstances

  • John and Maud Askew bequeathed funds for the benefit and advancement of Victorian government primary and secondary school students.

Oakleigh Technical School Society Direct Descendent Scholarship


The Oakleigh Technical School Society Direct Descendent Scholarship is worth $300 and is available to a descendent of a Life Member of the Oakleigh Technical School Society who is currently a Year 6 student. In keeping with the school's motto "Our Best Always" scholarships are awarded to sixth grade students who are diligent, making an effort to succeed, while showing genuine enthusiasm. The criteria do not necessarily require high marks to gain these awards.

Applications close on 20 October each year.
