iPods, Innovation, Increased Engagement and Individualised Learning

In 2008, Epsom primary school trialled the use of the iPod Touch, together with three other schools to create, research, write, explain, report, communicate and collaborate across the curriculum. This year Epsom purchased iPods for use with literacy and numeracy in Prep–Year 2 classes. Participants in this session viewed examples of their use in the literacy and numeracy block. They saw how visual literacy was enhanced through the use of movie clips and video instruction created by teachers for inclusion on the iPods. Jenny gave participants hands-on experience with an iPod Touch to help them get excited about this smart teaching tool.
