Conducting Research

Research informs the strategic thinking and policy development of the Department. Research undertaken or commissioned by the Department focuses on areas that are most important to improve the quality, participation and outcomes of education for Victorians.

The Department's Research Committee sets the priorities for research in the Department.

Under the direction of the Department’s Research Committee, the Research Branch is located within the Office for Policy, Research and Innovation. The Branch plays a key role in supporting the work of the Research Committee, including implementation of the Department's Research and Innovation Framework.
