Intercultural Understanding Field Trial
The Innovation and Next Practice Division is working with 25 schools throughout the state in a 12 to 18 month Field Trial that will broaden and deepen the evidence about the knowledge and skills required for effective intercultural understanding.
At a national level, intercultural understanding is one of the general capabilities underpinning the Australian Curriculum. As a multicultural state Victoria has a profound interest in how education does and could impact on intercultural understanding.
School leaders from the participating schools will trial and evaluate innovative teaching and learning practices for intercultural understanding in a structured, supported and professional learning environment.
The field trial will stimulate thinking, capture current innovative practices, identify next practice and share findings across the system.
