2006 Education Research Forum - Dr John Ingram and Ms Kay Hanson

Children’s digital intelligence - Dr John Ingram and Ms Kay Hanson, 11 December 2006

The Research Branch hosted a forum, on 11 December 2006, with two distinguished teacher/researchers from the UK, Dr John Ingram and Ms Kay Hanson.

Dr John Ingram’s work in Primary School ICT has won the UK Innovation and Change Award for Best Practice. John’s work is focused on children’s digital intelligence and how this can be developed through collaborative learning, peer tutoring and personalised learning linked to target setting.

Ms Kay Hanson was voted ICT Teacher of the Year for the UK. Her work is based on ‘inclusion’ projects to develop a ‘Learning Community’, both inside and outside the normal school day. Kay has extensive Primary school experience, having been a classroom teacher, Principal, and ICT Consultant, working with both ‘challenging’ children, Gifted and Talented pupils and ICT Schools of the Future.

In this forum, John and Kay discussed their work and recent ICT initiatives in UK primary schools.
