2007 Education Research Forum - Ros Black and Liz Suda
Education Foundation Australia – Ros Black and Liz Suda, 31 May 2007
The Research Branch hosted a forum, on 31 May 2007, with two keynote speakers from Education Foundation Australia, Ros Black and Liz Suda.
At the forum, Ros Black shared research findings from the recently launched Education Foundation Australia report, Crossing the Bridge: Overcoming entrenched disadvantage through student-centred learning. This report documents the experience of nine schools in the disadvantaged western metropolitan region of Melbourne that are trying to improve educational outcomes for middle year students.
Liz Suda shared her experience of the Teacher Learning Circles and the implications of Teacher Learning Circles for future professional learning, particularly in the creation of professional learning communities. The Teacher Learning Circles provide an interesting model of how theory can inform classroom practice.
