Leading Online

Premier John Brumby and Minister for Education, Bronwyn Pike

8 September 2009

A total of 77 students and teachers from across the state, including schools in Bendigo, Warrnambool, Maffra and Greater Melbourne, took part in this online event with the Premier and Ms Pike without leaving their classroom.

Students had their say on the issues around responsible and respectful online behaviour as a precursor to a fuller discussion at the Leading Responsibly in the Online World Student Summit on 12 October 2009. They chatted with the Premier and Ms Pike about potential risks involved with using the internet as well as how to get the message out about behaving respectfully and ethically online. The well considered comments from the students were appreciated by the Premier and Ms Pike who answered their questions and shared their opinions.
