Making Learning Visible forum: schools' research project presentations - the Office for Policy, Research and Innovation hosted a final forum with Professor John Hattie on Thursday 17 February 2011, where the schools also shared their findings from their research projects.

Innovative Learning Environments Expos - Four Innovative Learning Environments (ILE) Expos were held across Victoria in 2010 to promote innovative approaches to teaching and learning in new learning spaces.
John Davitt Forum - John Davitt is a writer, broadcaster and a digital toolmaker with 30 years experience in education. In this forum Davitt considered how we can use technology to meet a diverse range of educational needs.
Making learning visible in Victorian schools – master classes with Professor John Hattie - the Office for Policy, Research and Innovation hosted three master classes with Professor John Hattie from Tuesday 5 October 2010 to Thursday 7 October 2010.
Listen2Learners - L2L provided a unique opportunity for students to showcase their learning with technology and engage in discussion with key decision makers in the Department, partner organisations and other areas of government.

Innovation Showcase 2010 - This annual event celebrates and shares innovative practices in Victorian education and early childhood settings. Vodcasts, podcasts and presentations are available from the event covering a range of topics from ipod touches to play based learning.

2010 Policy and Research Forums – Research into 0-18 Learning and Development - The forum brought together Victorian researchers, stakeholders and policy makers to share and explore the research findings and learnings that were contributing to achieving Victoria’s 0-18 learning and development agenda.

Connecting Innovators: Strategies for Personalising Learning - Educators shared their experience of Bellaire Primary School's whole-school approach to personalised learning.

Innovative Learning Environments Design Conference - This event focussed on the innovative use of learning environments to support improved teaching and learning. The conference featured educators who have successfully incorporated innovative practices into new learning environments.
Policy and Research Forums - Ann Lieberman - Dr Ann Lieberman is Emeritus Professor at Teachers College, Columbia University, and is widely known for her work in the areas of teacher leadership and development. This forum focussed on Teacher learning and leading: the key to educational reform.
Innovation Anecdotes - Renowned knowledge management expert and storyteller Shawn Callahan discussed how sharing real life experiences can initiate conversations that inspire innovation.

Charles Leadbeater Forum - Charles Leadbeater is a leading authority on creativity and innovation. The forum was part of the Next Practice Program and explored personalisation and relationships for learning.
Leading Online - Premier Brumby and Minister Pike met with students from across the state in the Department's Virtual Conference Centre to hear what they had to say about their digital world, cyberethics and the role students can play in leading responsible online behaviour.

Mitzi Goldman - Students as Documentary Makers - In this online conference with film maker Mitzi Goldman, teachers were shown how media is a deeply engaging tool when students use it to express their learning about the real world.
2009 Inky Awards Launch - The Inkys are international awards for teenage literature. At this year's launch the long-list was announced and special guests, including authors and teenage judges, discussed the selection.
Networked schools – Using New Technologies to Connect & Collaborate - Teachers Gary Schultz and Adrian Camm discussed how they are using learning online to overcome the disadvantages caused by distance and allow students to collaborate with others across the state.

Inspired to learn – A Taste of the Hottest 21st-Century Learning - Teachers Jenny Ashby and Anne Mirtschin gave participants an insight into the uses of different technologies to engage students in the classroom. The event focussed on uses for the iPod Touch/ iPhone and web 2.0 networking tools.
Research Partnerships Forum - participants found out how new research findings are advancing the department's learning and development agenda and how it can support them in their workplace. Presentations from schools, universities and research organisations covered a range of related topics.

Jean Johnson Forum - Jean Johnson, the CEO of Notschool.net, has worked in education for 25 years. She is recognised internationally for her commitment to social inclusion for disadvantaged youth. At this forum Jean and Jonny Dyer discussed re-engaging students through online learning.
Marco Torres Workshops - Marco Torres is a teacher, media coach, education technology director, film maker and photographer. In two workshops, he shared his passion and commitment to helping students engage with learning and ensuring they acquire the skills needed to thrive in the 21st Century.
Signposts: Research points to how Victorian government schools have improved student performance - This forum gave participants the opportunity to hear from schools that participated in recent DEECD research and engage in discussion which will assist in school improvement.

Stepping into the Virtual Classroom - this event offered practical advice to educators interested in using virtual classrooms in their own teaching and learning settings. It provided examples of virtual classrooms including school-led conferences, student focused events, and major conferences.
2009 Innovation Showcase - The annual Innovation Showcase attracted local, national and international educators, leaders and representatives from partner organisations. Over 500 delegates attended the event and many more accessed sessions online.
2009 Innovation Showcase Online Events - The Innovation Showcase brought together education innovators from all over Victoria to share their amazing practice. Six outstanding sessions from the Showcase were also offered online.
Anywhere, Anytime Professional Learning - This panel discussion with Jason Smith, Greg Whitby and Katrina Reynen challenges the traditional notions of how professional learning is delivered and accessed. Shouldn’t teachers be accessing their own professional learning online anytime and anywhere?
