2009 Inky Awards Launch

The launch of the 2009 Inky Awards announced the longlist of books and featured special guests, including some of the teenage judges and authors such James Roy, winner of the 2008 Inky Golden Inky.

No other award in Australia reflects what teenagers want to read rather than what they are told to. The Inkys are international awards for teenage literature, voted for online by the readers of insideadog.com.au.

There are three awards:

• Golden Inky - for an Australian book
• Silver Inky - for an international book
• Creative Reading Prize - won by a young person for a creative response to a book they love, in any format they choose.
