Teacher Professional Leave (TPL)
The government’s reform agenda provides schools with a powerful range of tools that enable them to become more effective. One such tool, Teacher Professional Leave (TPL), gives teachers the opportunity to improve the quality of their classroom teaching, and contribute to school and system improvement. Principals take the opportunity to align their school’s plans for improvement around the professional learning needs of their teachers. Individuals or teams of teachers can apply for between 20 to 50 days of professional leave to develop themselves in diverse ways.
