Regional Teaching Resources and Activities
Schools in Barwon South Western region teach all Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS) subject based disciplines and education programs. Within our region we have project officers responsible for specific curriculum or program areas. These staff can provide teachers with information, support and assistance.
Our region also provides special teaching support and resources in the following key areas:
- English as a Second Language – support from the regional project officer, and resources such as the Geelong English Language Centre, and the ESL blog.
- eLearning – information and resources on eLearning in the region including information on Ultranet training.
- Koorie Education – publications, contacts and support for the nine Koorie communities in the region.
- Languages Other Than English (LOTE) – support from the regional project officer, a range of partnerships, networks and publications.
- Language Support – support for teachers and schools in the region to improve student’s oral language skills and assist them to learn more successfully.
- Multicultural Education – regional resources including project officer, website and newsletter.
- Numeracy and Mathematics – our work towards a numeracy strategy that will lead effective teaching and learning in numeracy in the region.
