About our Region
Barwon South Western Region includes the Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula, Surf Coast, Great Ocean Road and coastline of Bass Strait through to the South Australian border and north to the Glenelg River, Southern Grampian Ranges.
The Regional Office is based in Geelong with sub regional offices in Warrnambool, Portland, Hamilton and Colac.
The region provides educational services to 39,913 students in 139 government schools:
- 92 primary schools
- 13 P–12 colleges
- eight secondary schools
- seven specialist schools.
In the region there are around 200 licensed early childhood services caring for and educating over 8,000 children. Services include long day care, kindergarten and occasional care programs.
