Dollars and Sense: Financial Management for School Leaders

Who can participate?

The Dollars and Sense program is for newly appointed Principal class members, aspiring principals and Business Managers. This program has been developed to provide a school financial management program focusing on best practice.

What will I learn?

The Dollars and Sense program developed by the Schools Resource Allocation Branch, has been significantly updated to reflect the CASES21 environment and associated changes. It is presented in four half day modules. The presenters are experienced practitioners and evaluations from previous programs are very positive.

The four modules focus on the following are

  • Student Resource Package (SRP) - Understanding the SRP and the SRP planner
  • Introduction to Workforce Budgeting - Introduction to developing workforce plans
  • Financial Management - Overview of financial responsibilities, internal controls and School Resource Indicator reports
  • Financial Reporting - Discuss key reports used and how to analyses them in CASES21 Finance

How do I become involved?
