Professional Coaching for Principals

Who can participate?

 Experienced PrincipalsLeadership Teams

The program is open to all school-based principals.

What will I learn?

The Professional Coaching for Principals program is designed to assist principals, leadership teams and collegiate groups to build their leadership capacity through working with a skilled professional coach.  Coaching allows individuals, leadership teams and groups of principals to set clearer professional goals, gain greater focus and improve the educational outcomes for students in their schools.

How is the program structured?

The program is delivered over the calendar year.  A range of professional coaching options are available to regional networks including individual, school leadership team and collegiate group coaching.

Individual Principal Coaching allows principals the time and space to reflect upon their practice and think of new ways to enhance their leadership capabilities and the critical role they play in improving the performance of their school and student outcomes.

Individual Principal and School Leadership Team Coaching allows principals and their leadership teams to achieve a higher level of performance by working together with a professional coach.  In this option the coach will work with the principal and their leadership team to focus on achieving the goals, targets and key improvement strategies identified in the School Strategic Plan and Annual Implementation Plan.

Individual Principal and Collegiate Coaching - networks can opt to undertake a combination of both individual and collegiate coaching.   In this instance, up to six (6) principals within a network will form a collegiate group whereby the members will come together to be coached as a group, as well as receiving individual coaching.  Two coaches will be assigned to the collegiate group in this model with three (3) principals assigned to each.  The collegiate group will work together with their coaches to achieve the identified goals, targets and key improvement strategies for their network.

Highly skilled and experienced professional coaches from both corporate and education sectors have been selected to participate in this program.  All coaches have extensive coaching experience with many accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF).  Several coaches also act as Executive Coaches for corporations.

What assistance is provided?

The cost of the program is covered.  Participants can choose to receive coaching in a location of their choice.  Participants will also have access to resources on a dedicated web page.  CRT and travel costs are not covered.
