Andy Griffiths

Andy Griffiths

Which character from a book would you most like to meet or to be?

Pretty much anyone, really. The one character I'd hate to be, and especially hate to meet, is that Andy Griffiths character in the JUST... series. He is stupid, selfish, cowardly, careless, vain, cruel, thoughtless, reckless and always pushing that nice Danny Pickett around. Ugh!

Where is the best place to read a book?

I like to get up really early and read while I'm eating breakfast.

What were you like at school?

Just like that Andy Griffiths character in the JUST... series. Stupid, selfish, cowardly, careless, vain, cruel, reckless and always pushing that nice Danny Pickett around.

What are your hobbies?

Stupidity, selfishness, cowardice, carelessness, vanity, cruelty, recklessness and always pushing that nice Terry Denton around.

Do you have any pets or kids?

I used to but they all accidentally fell into a giant mashing and pulverising machine that I'd stupidly, selfishly, recklessly and carelessly left running and, well, I don't like to talk about it all that much.

What is your most treasured possession?

My giant mashing and pulverising machine. Before I built it my life was full of problems. Now I don't have any. It takes care of EVERYTHING.

What book would you take to a deserted island?

How to Build a Giant Mashing and Pulverising Machine

Your words of wisdom to students completing the Premier's Reading Challenge?

Get up early and read while you're eating breakfast, and don't forget to switch your giant mashing and pulverising machine off when you've finished using it.

Why Andy loves reading…

'Reading the types of books that I love wakes me up - makes me take notice of what's happening around me - reminds me that it's a big exciting, mysterious, funny, sad, crazy world out there...and at the same time reminds me that there's a big, exciting mysterious, funny, sad, crazy world inside me as well.'
