A message from the Premier

Welcome to the 2010 Victorian Premier’s Reading Challenge

Following the success of the 2009 Victorian Premier’s Reading Challenge, I invite students from Prep to Year 10 to make this year’s Challenge even more exciting than the last and break all previous Challenge records.

This will be no mean feat when you consider over 212,000 students read more than 3.8 million books in the 2009 Premier’s Reading Challenge!

Of course these figures would not be possible without the support of teachers, principals, librarians and parents. I commend their involvement and look forward to working with them again to inspire more students to discover the joy of reading.

More detailed information to help students partaking in the Challenge and all Challenge supporters can be found on this website. I also encourage you to keep visiting these pages for information about new initiatives in the 2010 Challenge, including some exciting news about the 2010 certificate that will be issued to all successful Challengers later in the year.

In the meantime, good luck and have fun reading!

Why I love reading…

My favourite book is ‘Star School’.

It is a drama about trying to get into a popular high school.

The book is both funny and sad – sort of like real life.
