Processes and Printing

Processing recommendations

The following tips have been compiled to help you with importing your enrolments to the School Start Bonus (SSB) system:

    • If you are entering up to 10 students, you can use the import function if you are able export your data from your school system. However the 'Add Enrolment' option can also be used to add them manually, and it may be faster to do so. If you are not exporting your data and have up to 10 students to enter, it is recommended that you use the 'Add Enrolment' option.
    • If you have created a CSV file from your school system (such as SAS), you don’t need to use the SSB Import spreadsheet – you can import the CSV file directly into the SSB system.
    • If you use the SSB Import spreadsheet and encounter an error while attempting to transmit your data, try one of the following:
      • If the error number is 1004, you may have opened the spreadsheet directly from the SSB information site rather than saving it. Select ‘File’ and ‘Save As’ to save the spreadsheet, then close the current window and open the file in ‘Excel’.
      • You can use the 'Create a CSV file' option and follow the instructions on using a CSV file.
      • Contact SSB support.
    • If you get Error on Page after clicking 'Validate' on the Import Enrolments page, you may not have your internet security settings set correctly, or you may have pop-ups blocked either through Internet Explorer or a Google or Yahoo tool bar. Re-check your internet settings, after first using the 'Default Level' or reset option on the security tab in the Internet Options toolbar to reset the settings (click ‘Apply’ to set the default). Then proceed with changing the settings as instructed. Consult your local PC support (if you have one) to allow pop-ups for the SSB system.
