International Students in Schools
There are over 150 Victorian Government schools accredited to deliver programs to fee paying international students (students holding a subclass 571 visa), and a further 400 Victorian Government schools registered to deliver programs to the dependants of overseas fee paying students and temporary residents (excluding subclass 571 visa holders).
The accreditation and registration process seeks to ensure that international students receive a high quality education experience through a high level of support and care in a safe, welcoming and engaging learning environment.
The International Education Division of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development has established a Quality Assurance Framework, including a set of Quality Standards which provide schools with a policy framework for the delivery of high quality programs to international students.
Please refer to the International Student Program Quality Standards for schools, the School Resource Kit and the IELP Guidelines and Guide for further information.
Applications from international students are handled by the International Education Division of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
