Benchmark Publications

The accountability framework includes the use of benchmarks of actual school performance. These benchmarks allow schools to compare their own performance with the performance of other Victorian schools, after allowing for the socio-economic composition and language background of their student populations.

Data are extracted from school annual reports and used to develop a variety of benchmarks in key areas of school operations. Benchmarks provide common points of comparison, enabling schools to determine their own relative standards and to answer the question: "Is what we have achieved good enough?"

All 2002-onwards Benchmark publications are provided in MS Excel format rather than PDF. When you open these files, ensure to enable macros, otherwise the menu options will not work.
