Some schools may be experiencing difficulties loading their end of year school performance data into Cases 21. If that is the case and your school has exhausted all other avenues of assistance, then as a final option, schools can upload summary data through the School Level Report webforms (principal's edumail login and password required).
To assist Victorian government school and regional staff in developing their data interpretation skills, we have developed a series of case studies documenting the diagnoses of several schools' strengths and areas for improvement. These case studies are all based on real schools and have been developed with the support, verification and endorsement of each school's leadership team. Importantly, the case studies rely on a combination of data and context to form a comprehensive view of each school's performance - they recognise that data alone cannot tell the story of each school's performance.
Case studies 1 through to 6 were produced in 2006 and deal exclusively with data from the staff, student and parent opinion surveys. Case studies 1 to 6 are presented in a single document that must be printed on A3 paper. If you don't have an A3 printer, staff from Victorian Government Schools can request a copy be posted by emailing staffopinion.survey@edumail.vic.gov.au
Case studies 7, 8 and 9 (also referred to as "Red Primary School", "Yellow Primary School" and "Green Primary School") make use of the complete set of data provided for Victorian government schools. Case studies 7, 8 and 9 are presented here as zip files, each of which contains a complete set of materials that together make up the case study. Each set of materials includes a "readme" file which should be read first, along with a PowerPoint presentation designed to summarise the data reports. The PowerPoint files include speaking notes.
