Resources - The Five Elements

Element 1 - Induction

Induction is important not only for beginning teachers and their students, but for teachers returning to schools and those in new roles. It is important for the teaching profession as a whole. Appropriate support for beginning teachers not only assists them to be more effective teachers; it also makes their introduction to teaching more rewarding and helps to improve their sense of efficacy. It is anticipated that a quality induction program will contribute to higher levels of teacher retention and help to sustain a vibrant and well-trained teaching force.
