Accreditation - Self Assessment

The self assessment process is designed to help schools to:

  • Assess the school's Performance and Development practice and culture
  • Understand what needs to be done to become accredited as a Performance and Development Culture school
  • Develop a plan for moving towards accreditation as a school which has developed and sustained a Performance and Development Culture

Framework

The Self Assessment Framework (PDF - 222Kb) is designed to help schools self-assess their current P&D Culture status and understand what they need to do to meet the accreditation standard.

In working through the Framework, it is important to keep the following guidelines in mind:

  • The Framework is intended solely for internal planning purposes
  • Level 4 describes the standard required for accreditation
  • It may take some time for a school's Performance and Development Culture practice to meet the accreditation level

Self Assessment Pack (April 2005)

Following the self-assessment against the Framework it is suggested that schools complete three further self assessment steps. These steps form a Self Assessment Pack that is for internal school purposes only. They may assist schools in further developing timelines and planning in moving towards accreditation:

1. Accreditation Readiness Questionnaire (PDF - 189Kb)

The school leadership team can use the brief accreditation readiness questionnaire to prepare for external verification and accreditation.

2. Teacher Questionnaire (PDF - 141Kb)

A teacher questionnaire can be given to some or all teachers, to help the leadership team evaluate how teachers view the effectiveness of the school's Performance and Development practice.

3. Documentation and Evidence Questionnaire (PDF - 149Kb)

The school leadership team compiles documentation and evidence of the school's Performance and Development Culture.

You can provide these questionnaires online for your staff using the free, online survey tool SurveyMonkey. For quick, easy instructions on how use SurveyMonkey, see: SurveyMonkey Instruction Sheet (PDF - 100Kb)
