Site Acquisition, Extension and Leasing

New site aquisition

New school sites are identified for acquisition in accordance with school provision plans. These plans are developed in conjunction with the planning processes adopted by local government authorities.

Site extensions

Although the Department’s annual expenditure on property is primarily directed towards the purchase of new sites, some capacity exists to overcome serious site deficiencies at a limited number of existing schools.

Leasing/licensing

The Department leases and licenses property required for educational and recreational purposes.
