Town Planning Guidelines for Non-Government Schools

The Town Planning Guidelines for Non-Government Schools provide a general guide to Victoria’s Planning Schemes. They are of assistance to non-government schools when applying for planning permits to extend or upgrade their buildings and grounds. The guidelines aim to clarify requirements at each stage of the planning process. They bring together information from a number of sources, particularly Planning: a Short Guide 2007, a publication developed by the Department of Planning and Community Development.

While planning requirements at local councils may differ, there are common processes that apply to all non-government schools. The guidelines aim to help schools understand these requirements as well as the town planning application process.
To assess the impact of the guidelines on school administrative activities, a Standard Cost Model Measurement of Town Planning Guidelines for Non-Government Schools has been prepared.
