In December 2007, the Victorian Government announced that eleven new schools in the growing communities of Melbourne would be delivered through a public private partnership arrangement.

A private sector consortium, Axiom Education Victoria, has been appointed to design, build, finance and maintain the schools over a period of 25 years.
All education and curriculum responsibilities will remain with teaching staff and the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
This investment in school infrastructure will improve the performance of individual schools, and contribute to broader educational improvements across the State as part of the Victorian Schools Plan.
