School Infrastructure
"School Infrastructure" refers to the site, buildings, furniture and equipment that contribute to a learning environment. It is widely recognised that student performance is strongly affected by the design and suitability of those facilities in which it takes place.
The schools we design and build must:
- promote effective learning and teaching;
- incorporate new technology;
- be environmentally sustainable; and
- support community involvement.
The Department supports these learning environments through the:
- provision of new and environmentally sustainable schools;
- upgrade and modernisation of existing facilities;
- ongoing maintenance and rationalisation of Departmental assets; and
- support of school communities wanting to reorganise local schooling opportunities.
