The Maths Circus products have a variety of challenges, which assist learners to develop problem-solving strategies. The programs tracks students' progress for teacher analysis. The challenges become progressively harder. Maths Circus is recommended for Early and Middle Years of Schooling in Maths. The products come as dual platform (Windows/Macintosh CD ROM) and the purchase of two copies entitles schools to have an unlimited licence. There are twelve puzzles, each with five levels of difficulty that range from very simple (for pre-schoolers) to very challenging (even for teachers and parents). The problems range widely in type, involving spatial reasoning, perceiving patterns in size, order or time, and manipulating a number of variables in order to help the circus performers do their tricks. The package includes lots of black line masters and other resources, plus facilities that enable teachers to adjust the level of difficulty of each puzzle to suit each student. It also keeps a record of which problems each student has solved, and saves up to two hundred circuses.

Pricing and Licensing Information

License details

If you are purchasing Maths Circus Act products for the first time, you are required to purchase two (2) copies of the one titles, this will enable a school to load the software on all computers under a site license arrangement. Department staff may use the products to prepare or change materials for teaching purposes.

Two copies of the same title constitutes an Unlimited School License. (When a school purchases two copies of any one title they may run the software on all computers run by the school).

Technical information

PC - Windows 3.1 or Windows 95. 486 CPU or faster recommended. Sound card supported but not essential. DOS version available on request.

Macintosh - Requires System 7.1 or later. Speech system extension is supported. Monochrome displays are supported, but colour is recommended. Versions for System 6 or 7.0 available on request.
