Can I make a backup copy of some recently purchased Software?

Under the copyright laws the owner of a legitimately owned "original" copy of a computer software program, may make one copy as a backup in the event the original is "lost, destroyed or rendered unusable". This does NOT apply if there is an express direction to the contary from the copyright owner given to the purchaser at the time of purchase of the original copy. This express direction includes a clearly legible direction printed on the package in which the copy is supplied, commonly called " the shrink wrap" 

Can I down load images or text from the web and use them in my web page or work?

It is illegal to use down loaded text or graphic images created by someone else. However a Universal Resource Locator (URL) linking the other persons work to your page is usually acceptable.

Can I load shareware software at school?

Yes but shareware developers may request a fee for use; ask for a donation to a charity; specify a trial period of use; and/or specify instructions for use and distribution.

Can I load freeware software at school?

Yes, usually this term applies to software which is distributed or made available free of charge. However always check the terms and conditions of use as there maybe restrictions on the number of copies or types of usage.

I'm imaging a computer room of 20 machines using Ghost. Can I just use the single copy and send the image from the server using ghost multicast?

Yes, but you must ensure that you have purchased sufficient licenses for all the software on the image that you plan to send to the clients and the appropriate number of Ghost licenses for the 21 computers (including server).
