ICT Grants

Overview

ICT Grants to Schools is an ongoing annual funding initiative totalling $7 million which is distributed to Victorian government schools via the Student Resource Package.

Goal

The ICT Grants are intended to assist schools to achieve and maintain the Government’s performance target for a 1:5 computer to student ratio.

Implementation

The ICT Grants to Schools is provided to assist schools to:

  • sustain and refresh their curriculum computers to ensure an up-to-date fleet that will support curriculum software, and
  • achieve and maintain the Government’s target computer to student ratio.

ICT Grants to Schools is not intended to be used to:

  • lease computer equipment;
  • purchase networks, printers, scanners, software, digital cameras, data projectors, videoconferencing equipment etc;
  • supplement the routine and operational funding allocated through the SRP for the Technical Support to Schools Program. It is not to be used as payment for personnel to manage/maintain computer equipment or the school computer network.
