DEECD@Work - Intranet Delivery Service

Overview

The DEECD@Work Intranet is a secure website providing a corporate resource which aggregates and provides access to information, web links, forms and online business processes. DEECD@Work is accessible via VicSmart and also from home and other remote locations via the Internet, by entering user's EduMail username and password.

Goals

The DEECD@Work intranet improves the quality, efficiency and productivity of school and departmental business systems by providing secure access to relevant departmental electronic resources 24 hours a day. This service results in:

  • access for all staff in corporate sites to "a personal copy" of current documentation
  • secure access to personal information and automated business processes
  • reduced need for printing, distribution costs and local storage of documents; and
  • reduction in the time spent locating and verifying the source of documents.

Implementation

The DEECD@Work intranet was developed during 1999 and the roll out to Corporate locations occurred in early 2000.
