LANGWITCHES.ORG includes standards, ideas, projects, tutorials, and software reviews. The goal is to encourage foreign language and ESL teachers to learn and experiment with technology and at the same time, become comfortable enough to expand their teaching methodology to include different kinds of technologies into their classrooms.

Kahootz is a powerful set of 3D multimedia tools that allows students and teachers to be creators, designers, inventors and storytellers. Students of all ages can create fantastic three-dimensional environments that allow them to use animation extensively, add sounds to events and objects, link from one scene to another and navigate through their created world. They can also export their Kahootz creations as AVI or QuickTime movies.

Free software to create picture slideshows with voice narration. Each picture in a slideshow can have an accompanying voice-narrated mp3 audio file, optional tags, and text captions.

Online tutorials for learning to use MS FrontPage and Publisher

PhotoStory allows you to create slideshows using your digital photos. You can add special effects, soundtracks, and your own voice narration to your photo stories. Then, personalize them with titles and captions. Small file sizes make it easy to send your photo stories in an e-mail. Watch them on your TV, a computer, or a Windows Mobile-based portable device.

The Hot Potatoes suite of software includes six applications, enabling you to create interactive multiple-choice, short-answer, jumbled-sentence, crossword, matching/ordering and gap-fill exercises. Hot Potatoes is not freeware, but it is free of charge for those working for publicly-funded non-profit-making educational institutions, who make their pages available on the web. Other users must pay for a licence.
