The Personal Learning domain focuses on providing students with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to be successful, positive learners in all disciplines, including LOTE.

This domain supports the development of autonomous learners by providing students with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to:

• develop an understanding of their strengths and preferred learning styles
• seek and respond appropriately to feedback from their teachers, peers and other members of the community
• develop skills of goal setting and time and resource management
• monitor their learning, and set and reflect on their learning goals
• develop resilience and positive attitudes to learning

Language learning requires students to apply these skills. Students will learn the language more effectively when these particular skills are explicitly targeted in the classroom, and intentionally integrated into learning tasks.
