Online Conference Grants
Online Conference grants have been awarded to the following projects to explore a particular issue through online collaboration with schools and their wider school communities.
Using ICT to engage Middle School Students (Lilydale High School)
August 27-28, 2008
This online conference aims to give teachers of Middle School students a
practical insight into the use of ICT in the classroom to assist with engagement.
It addresses both the areas of expertise at the school and provides an arena
for staff to get feedback from other staff about the work that they are
doing in class.

Web-Based Social and Collaborative Learning (Concord School)
September 2, 2008
For the last two years Concord School has undertaken an action research
approach to the investigation of Web 2.0 tools and practices. This conference
reports on the activities undertaken, technologies used and the progress
made during this period. Teachers from Concord discuss pedagogical approaches
using blogs, web-based photo sharing, social bookmarking, media content
management systems and web-based social networking.

NOW CONFERENCE: Teaching for the NOW generation - Navigating the Online World (Debney Park Secondary College & Western Metropolitan Region)
October 7-9, 2008
Current research shows that learning outcomes can be improved if teachers
use online tools and resources to improve their classroom practice as students
become more engaged. To provide support to teachers in these areas this
conference addresses the following:

Closing the ICT Loop (Seabrook Primary School)
October 20, 2008
Teachers from the Seabrook Primary Schoo will demonstrate the ways in which
they use ICT to implement a personalized learning program for their students.
This conference is for K-12 Australian Schools interested in ways of successfully
implementing rigorous and tested approaches of assessment within an inquiry
based learning and teaching curriculum.
