The aim of this project was to use technology that students are accustomed to using within an educational setting. In this case it was the creation of podcasts as part of a local community project and using Web 2.0 technologies, such as blogging, for research and communicating with other teachers and students around the world.

The Prep team at Heidelberg Primary School (HPS) intended to produce Digital Portfolios with a small number of students, with a view to introducing Digital Portfolios next year for all Prep students, then gradually introducing them across the school.

The plan, in collaboration with the arts team at the school, was to create a documentary of the school concert held in Term 3 and incorporate a wider variety of multimedia (digital photos, video, sound) into the Year 5 curriculum. Through a sequential skill based program the students would be introduced to video cameras and movie making software, neither of which have been the focus of our ICT initiatives before.
