DEECD Sponsored Programs
DEECD provides opportunities for staff to learn and grow from the development experiences offered through the leadership and management programs listed below.
NB: Staff are encouraged to seek their manager's approval and support when considering expressing interest in any of the programs as part of their individual performance and development planning process.
ANZSOG - Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA) 2010 Intake
The ANZSOG EMPA is a two year part time Masters program for high achieving VPSG5 and VPSG6 officers. Interested staff should obtain the Student Guide and Manager Guide from the ANZSOG web site. (See link above). This Program is now closed.
ANZSOG Strategy & Collaboration Workshop
This workshop is suitable for VPSG 5 & 6 level staff to learn how to collaborate on join-up government initiatives together with other participants from the VPS. It is now closed.
Public Sector Management Program (PSMP)
The PSM Program is a joint venture between Commonwealth, State and Territory Governments, to deliver first-class public sector management tertiary post-graduate course at the Graduate Certificate level which would be suitable for VPSG 5-6 staff. The 2010 intakes are:

Julia Flynn Leadership Program
This is a DEECD leadership program for women at VPSG4 & VPSG5 levels.
ANZSOG – Executive Fellows Program (19 October to 6 November 2009 in Wellington, NZ)
Applications are now invited from senior executives for this three week residential program. Further information about the program can be found at the ANZSOG web site. This Program is now closed.
Williamson Community Leadership Program (WCLP)
The WCLP is run by Leadership Victoria. It brings together a group of up to 36 people from the public, business and community sectors to experience an enriching year of seminars, visits, field trips and lectures. This Program is now closed.
The Cranlana Programme (http://www.cranlana.org.au/programme.html) is directed at enhancing their understanding of the philosophical, ethical and social issues central to creating a just, prosperous and sustainable society in Australia.Two programs are offered: the Colloquium for Executive Officers in DEECD and for VPSG 4-5 staff called the Cranlana Programme Symposium for Future public sector leaders. Both programs are fully sponsored by the Human Resources Division and are now closed.
Future Summit 2009 The Summit brings together current and emerging leaders to discuss key issues that will enhance Australia’s standing in the world economy and improve the quality of life for all Australians. This program is now closed.
DEECD Business Planning
This is a 1.5 day workshop suitable for staff involved in business planning for their area. More information on DEECD Business Planning guidelines is available at Planning@DEECD.
ANZSOG Executive Workshops
