Cessation of Employment
The following information is applicable to all categories of staff employed by the Department.
A staff member may choose to leave the employment of the Department or a school council for a variety of reasons.
The employment of a staff member may be terminated due to unauthorised absence.
A staff member must resign from the service if elected to State Parliament or if they wish to contest a federal election.
Employment separation certificates are required by Centrelink to determine eligibility for various benefits. If a staff member requests a certificate, the employer must provide it.
