The case study schools were selected to represent an exemplary level of management of school bullying behaviours and in the creation of safe school environments. Schools were drawn from across the state to represent urban, regional and rural settings, which were reflective of a range of social, cultural and other variables.
No school relied on one single strategy, program or approach to the prevention and management of bullying. Their successful outcomes were the sum of many small steps. All schools demonstrated a positive approach to diversity, whether it was cultural diversity or different abilities and had a strong commitment to student wellbeing and safety.
Several general themes emerged, however there were many paths to the same destination.
